Agentemo1...

I have a k8vse delux and amd 64 3400 and all is working perfect.
So...amd 64's work fine.

If your using winxp sp2 search how to turn off DEP in SP2.

Could be alot of reasons but that is a good one to start with.

PCI graphics is a bit of a no no - especially with the 001 - try AGP graphics that might fix the problem

cheers, Scott

I have a Kv8se delux amd 34 3400+ and I had the same problem...Even after I reinstalled Windows (I originally installed windows with SP 2) with SP 1 I was having those problems. My question to you is how big is your recording drive? I was recording to my media drive (wich I had partioned at 150 GB from a 250 GB HD)and was having the same problem....Once I started recording to my 80 GB external HD I quit having the error that said PT couldn't get data fast enough from the drive....However the access violation comes up randomly, and all you have to do to make it stop is delete your digi data base folder on your recording drive. Pro Tools runs like a well trained beast now......

I'm having a similar problem,

AMD FX 55
Asus A8ve-Deluxe
2 Seagate SATA Barracuda 7200 RPM Drives
1 Ghz Crucial Ballisix DDR 400
PCI Express 6800gt Nvidia

I have received the H/W buffer error whenever i try to run off my internal Audio Drive. However i have found some new twists. When i run a session of the system drive i run into no problems. I can also run off external firewire drives no problem. Whenever i run off the other SATA internal drive it give me that error alot. I am using DMA 4 and 5 on the drives respectvly. I have used both 6.4 and 6.7 with all updates and not updates. its not pro tools related i dont think, however when i ran these drives on a pentium i had no problems. Maybe a chipset thing.. im stumped... anyone please helpe DIGI are you guys having anything like this..

Currently running on a mbox on 6.7

I'm running a different board to you, however, I received similar errors at first. After turning off several windows services the problem went away. I did this so long ago I can't be more specific because I can't remeber which one was the culprit.

Sorry I can't be more specific about it...Its just al my PTLE errors always have seemed to be the fault of a bloated OS.

Derek
Derek,
List your problem in the compatiblity issues sticky at the top of the forum. I think you have a problem with that internal SATA drive. You may need to download new drivers for it. If that doesn't work try a SATA to IDE converter and hook it to one of the regular ATA ports. I would also reformat this audio drive.
Or just get a new WD 80GB 8mb cache ATA drive for under 50.00 now.
Good luck either way,
Allen

See the link on the Best Desktop for PTLE thread, first post under the Allenstein system. Go to the link on setting up this motherboard and click on your motherboard. There is a ton of info on setting up this motherboard correctly including the SATA ports.
