Default Setting up album format

What is the best way to comine my selected sessions into one master session for mixing and album preparation, (without killing my CPU?)

Record each mix to a new track in each session then export the file.

Import each to a new track in a new session called 'master'.

Set up the track list in the edit window, apply your mastering plugins on each track, then bounce each down as a separate file, applying dither last to each one.

Burn these files to CD using a separate program like CD Architect.

Voila!

Pro Tools does not have a mastering plug-in?

Well, at a push you could use the 7-band EQIII, DynamicsIII and Maxim if you've got that one.

Alternatively there's the lite version of Izotope's Ozone3 which is pretty cool for a quick master and came with the Ignition Pack 2.

For third party plugs, I can recommend the full version of Ozone, IK Multimedia's TRacks or the Wavearts Powersuite.

Even better, get dedicated plugs to do each part, like a multiband compressor (McDSP, Waves), Parametric EQ (Sonnox), Limiter (Sonnox, Massey) or other loudness maximiser (Sonnox Inflator) and maybe even a little analogue saturation (McDSP AC, Massey Tape-Head, Digidesign Reel Tap Saturation).

PSP VintageWarmer 2 is also extremely cool.

This will garner the best results in the box for getting the hot levels.
