Default 001 with Roland S-MPU-64.

Hi there,
I heard somewhere that you can't use the digi 001's own midi port in conjunction with another midi interface like my Roland Smpu 64.I have yet to install my new 001 and I am curious to know whether I will have 5 midi in/outs or not.
All responses appreciated.

I'm using the MPU64 in conjunction with digi - no problems at all. I have a motormix connected to digis midi in & out, & the Roland (USB)has my synth & modules connected. It all works perfectly.

Ive got a G4 - it has 2 USB ports. Ihave the roland on one port, keyboard & mouse on the other. Don't know if this makes any difference or not, but I know it works fine!

I've got one as well, and after some friend messed up my system, I could never get the 001 midi in. The 001 dosn't show in my oms studio set-up at all. But I really didn't try super hard as the roland has enough ins and outs for me. I did find that with the USB roland plugged in I go alot of mouse/keyboard hangs...sometime losing some work.

I had the same problem and sometimes my computer would'nt even start until you disconnected the Roland.I think it was a problem with the first version of OS9 before the updates. Also theirs been a load of updated drivers for the Roland since I bought mine nearly 2 years ago.But yeh what a head melt unpluging the mouse etc.

Thanks for the reply.
