It seems to me that in between periods of rather stable performance there are "updates" more often than not create a less reliable gobbler... Certainly a year ago to a year ana half ago gobbler went from quick, easy, reliable, to stalling and glinting A LOT. In my experience. Using several different internet providers in various places around the world so not just my studio internet going wonky for a bit.

Currently I've been 4 days trying to get some files for a client Mix. 2 overnight supposed download and one RE Upload even on the client end (which of course makes them wonder about my choice in file sending services)

I will try tech support but honestly its sunday now so ill probably have better luck asking him to re upload with hightail or we transfer so I have the files for monday mooring... fortunately in this case he has the file with him and won't ned to make another trip into the studio cause i anticipated a potential problem this weekend as we prepare for monday's workload.

I really do think Gobbler is faster, and more elegant, but that seems mostly in concept than actuality... although like i said there have been periods of problem free sending an receiving...

SO I'm holding out, but it doesn't inspire confidence in the folks I work with when as an early adopter I brought about 15 people on board.
Interesting. I've experienced quite the opposite. Gobbler has become faster and more stable from version to version. Concerning download issues, some clients in countries with really bad Internet connections had issues, but even that hasn't happen fore some time now.

For me Gobbler has gotten faster, but considerably less reliable with uploads.

The web downloads have always been a crapshoot for me. I'd say 15-25% of web downloads result in a problem.

On a separate issue, I would love an option to not have Gobbler send "REMINDER" emails.

Gobbler works fine here, but oddly enough, most every time I go to open it, it tries to start installing

A new version of Gobbler arrived yesterday. (0.21.75)

No problems so far, super quick in fact.

The new version seems to be more stable for me. Will test it more to make sure.

As some of you have noticed, we've just released the promised update with several fixes, primarily in the area of transfers. You should get an auto-update notice the next time you launch Gobbler.

I can assure you this update is not perfect, but we will continue to work on reliability with each new release.

Again, if you have any problems, please email support at gobbler dot com immediately.

Thanks,
Gordon

We used Gobbler for a little while with clients.
After a handful of hiccups that made us look less-than pro, we got a droplr pro for $4 per month.
Just copy the wav files up to he lil icon in your menu bar and share the link.
Then the client gets a page with a player and your logo as well...to add to the "pro" look

We still use Gobbler for backups and transferring sessions between the studio and home but can't afford to have the client be required to do much more than clickity-click.

I just sent a large file to a client with the new Gobbler update. No error on the upload, we'll see what happens on the download.

The custom branding is pretty great. I just wish Droplr didn't have the 2GB limit.

It's only a question of time that Gobbler will have custom branding, too.
