If it was the software update (the one you get automatically notified of) it isn't the combo update. So... not a bad place to start.

Backup your system first of course.....

PS: i did have just 10.0.0 installed however i think i had to go to lion to update my java and stuff so i could download PT 10 and avid virtual instruments.

I'll download the client combo and see how that goes! then re-install 10.3.6. I tried going back to 10.3.5 but it repeated the same thing 3.6 is doing

Are all of your plug-ins up to date? The only other time I have encountered this kind of issue was when someone had upgraded their OS and/or Pro Tools from older versions and did not uninstall the previous Pro Tools version. Some old, crusty components were left behind and they were causing v10 to crash on launch.

All of the plug-ins that i use on PT are stock really! I don't have any other .AXX, TDM or RTAS/ .DPM.

I mean surely the Stock plug-ins that come with PT 10.3.5 or 3.6 would be the latest versions?

I upgraded my OS cause i couldn't download 10 of protools without download manager, which required the latest version of java which required me going to Lion to download. I was kinda forced into installing 10 on lion!

PT 10 is the only version of protools i've ever had installed on my mac !

Maybe you should make a backup of your current system and do a clean install of Lion.
