Default Question about using a Mac Bluetooth keyboard

Without the numeric keypad on the right to press 3 I can't figure out how to record from the keyboard. I read a bunch of stuff about F12 and Command Spacebar but nothing is working. Maybe a pref? I have an iMac i9 running Big Sur and PT 2021.20

Thanks

As in how to enable record on the transport?

Command + spacebar. Don’t need a numeric keyboard for that shortcut.

The only reason that would not work is if you have not disabled the Spotlight shortcut in System Preferences. By default, that key combination will bring up the Spotlight search field.

There’s another prominent PT shortcut that conflicts with a default Mac OS shortcut. Can’t think of it off the top of my head, but it’s one of two I always disable on a new Mac OS installation.

Another good one, but it’s not that.

I think it involves a period. Ugh… total brain fart atm.

F12 not working might be because you’ve not set the F keys to act as function keys in the Keyboard section of Mac OS System Preferences?

Adding a small numeric keypad to your setup might be a good idea
