Problem with start up

Hi I'm hopeing some one can help me.
For some reason now, everytime I open PT, I get an error message.

"Protools is either not installed or being used by another application"

This is a new occurance, and I can't think of any changes I've made to make this happen.

What seems to work is to go to the Digidesign control panel under the apple menu, and use the "set up hardware". It usually takes two or three tries before it will work.

Can anybody tell me why this is happening? [img]images/icons/confused.gif[/img]

-This error is usually related to "Digidesign" being selected for the output of the Sound Control Panel. For whatever reason, the Mac OS does not release the hardware when Pro Tools is launched.

-Select “Built-In” for the Sound CP output and restart the computer.
