Best way to connect 002 + Ext HD + Liquid Mix
Hi there. I am having some irritating problems with my Liquid Mix not initialising when using Cubase (I usually use PT LE v7.1 but use Cubase now and then for midi). I have two Firewire busses (I think) - (forgive me if I have used 'port' or 'bus' incorrectly). I insert my 002 on the main (system) Firewire bus and my External Firewire drive and my Liquid mix share another bus (though on separate inputs, of course).
I was wondering if this was the optimum way of connecting these three items. To be really clear, the 002 is connected to the Firewire port/insert that came with the PC: the Liquid Mix and the Ext HD are inserted in the addition Firewire hub I paid for. When the Liquid Mix is recognised and initialises correctly it works fine - no crashes, no overloads. Any alternatives appreciated. Peter. |

That firewire hub is most likely the problem - you should consider getting a compatible firewire card and connect the hard drive and Liquid Mix to that.
