Default feature request list

Hey everyone, lets make a list here, like in the TDM forum, with our requests so hopefully Digidesign will take some note. Try not to complain too much and let's keep it realistic!

1) voice limit rather than track count limit

2) command focus mode

3) timecode synchronisation

4) ability to save mixer as a template then import it into a new session

5) beat detective

6) TDM editing tools

7) VST support

I wish there was a key stroke command that would let you choose b/t different midi functions. notes, regions, velocity etc.

Multiprocessor support
OSX support
USB support (I'm so tired of losing my mouse and keyboard)
VST support

I have no illustions of Digidesign giving me TDM power in my 001. I can live with only 24 tracks, but I want to get MORE out of those 24 tracks; more plug ins, more performance, less crashes and loss of peripherals. We have great computer power available to use; we just need the software to be able to tap into it.

Digidesign: PLEASE don't "upgrade" the 001 or PTLE with new bells and whistles that will make an already unstable system even more limited.

here's a thought (and it's not just for the 001). how about when you are recording midi during an 8 bar loop (or however many bars) when it loops back to bar 1 it goes into "overdub mode" automatically. this is such a BASIC function that most sequencers have and really one of the very few gripes i have. this is one of those features that really comes in handy for drum programming!!! i really really really really hope someone at digi is working on this!!!!

by the way... i love my pro tools

peace outie

More automation information (like putting in italics the features that have been automated in menus.)

and of course some more tracks would be fine.

any feature that has been automated, aside from mute, pan and fader is highlighted by a coloured box around the control. an easy way to switch track views is Control+Command+click on volume, pan, mute or the track name to change the view. Works for automated plug-in parameters too.

I'm not quite sure if I understand...

• Do you want Pro Tools to erase existing events everytime it loops over during record?

• Do you want Pro Tools to not erase existing events during loop record, and instead, merge new MIDI events with existing MIDI events.

Pro Tools does both. Switch on/off the MIDI merge button on the top/right of the transport (ie. the one with the 'red and blue merging arrows').

Apologies if I've missed your point. Please let me know what you mean.

Phil

Talking about automation - I would like to see automation available for audiosiute effects. Is this a subject that has come up before on this forum??? I never read anything about it but it seems like something that would be very useful.
