Default feature request list for 2002

Lets start a list here, please try not to ramble or complain.
Continue the #'s from this list in you posts.

1. meter view (shows a sm, med or lrg view) that is moveable on the screen (like the transport) also make it selectable for only tracks in record.

2. single keystroke for input/auto monitoring

3. Internal Click track (with a few variations) make it so you can shift it + or -

4. Midi quantize groove templates

5. Multiprocessor support

6. Let us be able to configure the unused space at the top of the edit window (ie: lock the transport there or put assignable buttons there or mem locations)

7.Let us be able to reconfigure some of the F-keys

1. Different colors for different tracks so we can find them easier.

2. Auto ride - automatically rides tracks and writes volume automation.

3. Ability to change Aux tracks into audio tracks - for printing drum machines.

4. Full Reason support.

5. Ability to Add Plugins and buses without stopping the song. (Logic does it)

6. When you hit E it should fill your monitor both horizontally and vertically.

7. Sub Folders for plugins

8. Build hardware controllers (Ethernet) for all the plugins.

9. Drag copy the sends the way you can with plugins.

10. Eliminate all those annoying dialogs when you're removing unused audio. Give us an option.

11. Support VST Plug ins. (Why not)

12. Ability to make Midi tracks inactive. (So I know I'm not using it)

Thank you.

DigiDawg

I like that one although there might be too many different buttons.

Maybe one button for pan and another to scroll thru all of the others.

Digi and Prod-

How about being able to 'user define' what these keys will do in prefs? I can think of ten keys I don't use at all-but I'm sure someone else does- so let me decide the set up I want. Kind of like an Avid set up.

My feature request is a CLIP EDITOR like we had in the AudioVision. Take an audio byte from the region list and put it in there, tangle with it, put it in the timeline ready to go. It was the best way to do foley sounds. I realize this is a 'post' tool mainly, but I can see how music editors could get some use out of it too.

Most of my requests would be in the MIDI side.

1. Individual Track offsets (MIDI & Audio)

2. Individual track MIDI Beat clock offset

3. Real time non-destructive quantise

4. Real time Arpeggiator with ability to "print" the arp.

5. Import CD tracks from the audio menu, not that goofy Quicktime kludge.

6. MIDI/Audio clip manager ala Digital performer

MULTIPLE BIT DEPTHS (16 AND 24) USABLE IN THE SAME SESSION _WITHOUT_ A TIME CONSUMING IMPORTATION TO MERELY ADD "PADDING" TO THE 16 BIT SAMPLES WITH 8 EMPTY BITS.

Yes, I know I'm yelling.

The biggy:

Get the latency thing buttoned up!

Just cause a plug in is put on lets not have to meticulously align that track to a new position some 10 samples foward! Make that automagiclike... I like the idea of an arppegiator map suggested a few posts up and midi beat clock offset.

Please just don't tweak the software and ask everyone to switch to new pci cards and conversion just to get the new features.

Make the new stuff work with the current pci cards!

1Folders for the region bin.
2 Colors for groups and tracks in Mix view.
3 Change tempo via continuous midi controler (like Mod Wheel) for Midi.

4 Options in Round Robin Disk allocation to exclude certain disks from being recorded upon.

5 Key command to navigate among the different Quantize values (command right arrow to cycle through choices)

6 Soothing Female voice to assure you that the mix sounds good and it's OK to bounce to disk now.
