Default volume/peak/delay indicator problem

hello
i'm using a protools 6.2.2. with mbox on an ibook g4 10.3.2.
my problem is that in protools the delay indicator always shows "zero". when i am inserting a delay plugin it also shows zero. i dont have installed any tdm plugins. ok i had some time ago then somebody told me to delete them so the indicator works right. it worked for some days but now it doesnt. i dont know what it is, also uninstalling ALL plugins and just installing the EQII from the digirack plugins wouldnt work.
i hope somebody can help me.

If you mean the latency delay, it will not show the delay setting of a delay plugin, ony any latency delay due to plugin use on the track.

i know this! but a delay plugin is BUILT!!!!!! to produce latency in order to delay an audio signal or not? so the indicator would display the time that a signal needs to run through the delay plugin + the delay itself in samples.

that's not how it works. the latency delay only reads the latency fo the plugin, not the delay setting as well. that is a function of the plugin, not an affect of it's use and latency. The plugin will give you a delay readout in it's interface.

It's up to the plug-in manufacturers to support that function...and believe it or not, the digirack RTAS plug-ins do not display their latency in the channel strip.

i cant believe it seems like you are right. the plugins FROM digidesign IN a digidesign software dont support this function??? thats ... how can i use this function anyway? playing one track, routing it to another audiotrack and record it again? or any other suggestions?
