echo and volume issues when recording vocals
For some reason i need to have the headphone knob turned up all the way with the mix knob d*mn near all the way down to prevent an echo, not only while recording but throughout the whole proccess. When i play it back the vocal is very low. Any suggestions?

Re: echo and volume issues when recording vocals
Try muting the vocal track in Pro Tools when recording to get rid of the echo, and monitor the mic via the Mbox only.
The mix knob balances between the input sound (e.g. a mic plugged into it) and the Pro Tools output (whatever's playing out of Pro Tools like a click track, , instruments, backing tracks etc.). When it's turned all the way one direction, you can hear only the input (at zero latency) and none of the Pro Tools output. When it's all the way the other direction you can only hear the Pro Tools output and no input. When you turn it beyond halfway towards "input only", the Pro Tools output becomes softer, which is probably why you're having to turn up the headphones a lot. |
