Opinions on SSL Nucleus w/ PT11 HDN

I just recently upgraded from a 002 rack to PT HDN 11. I am seriously considering adding the SSL Nucleus as a controller and for the extra 2 SSL built in pres.

This will go in conjunction with my HDN setup to be used along with:
HD IO 8x8x8
Slate Fox pre (1073 and modern voicing)
Dangerous Music D-Box

Is anybody currently using or have any experience using this board?

Whatever HUI based won't be as good as current implementation of Eucon. You might want to wait a bit until S3 Eucon becomes available - hopefully it won't be more expensive than Nucleus. Compared to HUI or C24, Eucon gives you:
- 48 automation snapshots
- plenty functions and shorcuts not available from regular keyboard shortcuts ( for example: select next/previous playlist )
- automatic banking
- custom fader layouts

I use Artist Control + Mix and, although there are some things missing, I like it better than C|24.

We tried the Nucleus here in a dealer store and boy was I disapointed! Everything feel plastic and just plain. Never thought I would say this but I would rather get an Behringer X 32.

C24 would be nice, but a used one is double the price. I picked the SSL nucleus up for $2700, same price as the Behringer x32 is selling for. Also this is going to be my first control surface dive i had a MotorMix years ago with my 002. I figured the control would be nice, and the 2 channel of pres, and latency free tracking through the board, almost justify the $2700 on their own.

Looking at C24s, the cheapest I found was $5699.

I've changed my mind about Behringer 13 years ago when they released DDX32/16 (I was Cubaser at that time ) . If I don't have Artist Series now, I'd definitely buy X32 or some of Presonus stuff rather than Nucleus.
