Audio Skips on Playback using 002r, any ideas?
When in ProTools everything is fine. When not in PT and just using winamp or playing any kind of audio then the audio skips and acts like it can't quite buffer it quickly enough? I've messed with different audio players and it always skips when using the 002r as my audio card. Seems like theres a large lag with sending to the 002r. I've got a bomb computer. What gives?
I'm on XP PRO, Asus A7N8X-E Deluxe, AMD 3000+, Crucial 1.5 GB, Raptor 74.6 gig, WD 7200 300gig, Radeon 9200. PT 6.7cs and Event TR8's. Digi approved firewire card. |

Have you tried increasing the buffer on the respective programs? For instance, winamp->preferences->output and configure the "direct sound output" you will see a buffering tab which you can set at will.
Most other programs have similar settings.

No I didnt see that. I was messing with winamps priority class thinking that was what might be in charge of buffer. I think its acting better now. Thanks spk. Nobody can live with skipping audio. nobody.

I maxed the buffer settings and now winamp skips a little less but mostly just responds slower in general.
Under the Direct Sound output it says that the Digi002 Chan1-2 is emulated and not certified. Is that normal? |

It's been a long time since I used the regular output in winamp with my protools rig, and honestly I don't recall.
I've been using the ASIO driver for winamp at work pretty successfully for awhile, though.
