Moving Media from AudioVision to PT
Hi there, I'm wondering if any people who are using AudioVision and going across to PT AV 5.1.1 are dealing with moving media between systems.
We are currently working on high quality TV drama in London, cutting FX on AudioVision 4v10 and mixing on a large PT ProControl system. We are having problems moving media. We can do an export from AudioVision as a PT 4.x file and reference the original media with no problems, but we have problems if we need to consolidate the media. The consolidate function in AudioVision is very flaky. It seems to put the wrong media in the clips after the consolidate, rendering the export of the consolidated sequence to PT quite unreliable and unusable. We need to consolidate as we have several different AudioVision systems with different large 20 gig FX libraries. I tried doing and OMFI transer with Audio Media but after going through any version of OMF Tool the PT session OMF Tool creates has no tracks. The obvious solution is to copy all our FX libraries but this will consume vast amounts of disk space and take time before final mixes. I am curious if anyone else out there is in the same boat and if there are any work arounds or methods we have overloooked. We are in a bit of a fix as we have large amount of work that we intend to start life on the AudioVisions and take to ProTools for mixing so we need to establish a method ASAP. Many Thanks Leon Horrocks Martyr Sound |
