GUI freezes frequently on M1 Mac starting in 2021.6
+1 here for beach balls on M1 / Big Sur . Rolling back to 2021.3.1 fixes it . Avid, please sort out whatever problems you've introduced for M1 users in your first "officially supported" M1 release!!

Re: Pro Tools 2021.6
If you can take the time to submit a support ticket it may help things along.

I open a ticket, I have sent Reports of the Mac and pro tools and also a video with the issue. They told me they are working on it. So I'm positive they will come up with a new version pretty soon....I hope.

Re: GUI freezes frequently with 2021.6 on M1 Mac
Have you tried any of the troubleshooting suggestions in this thread yet? To summarize it is best to start with a clean install (not update) of the OS and Protools. Then install (not restore or simply copy) each plugin and test before proceeding to the next plugin. It is a tedious process, but I think is is worth it instead of living with the freezing and beachballs. Alternatively, you can install an older version of Protools (it seems to work however it is not approved nor supported). Protools 2021.3 seems to be one that many people go back to with good results.

Re: GUI freezes frequently with 2021.6 on M1 Mac
Yes I have, but nothing serious. Only testing myself so far, nobody else coming to a session. No beachballing so far, most serious issue being Sonnox Pro Codec does not work.

Re: GUI freezes frequently with 2021.6 on M1 Mac
Mine is not freezing, which OS version and is it a factory install or clean one on empty storage?
Just for the sake of it just tested on a hacked 2010 (!) Mac Mini on Catalina and I cannot even get that to beachball even though it only has C2D processor and 8GB memory... I am pretty religious about clean installs, because I have noticed on my beta testing days that so many random errors go away just by clean installing everything. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I'm pretty sure you have shared how do you clean install on Mac OS but it would be awesome if you are kind enough to share with us once again and more in detail what's your process. Thanks so much, Emi
