Default Bias Peak-doesn\'t Pro Tools do basically the same?

Hello,

I was wondering if any PT users out there also use Bias Peak? Outside of the ability to transmit to a sampler, is there anything that it does that you can't basically do in Pro Tools?

Thanks
Chris

peak is a two-track sound editor software which is a very good one for mastering. though you CAN do mastering with protools, it is hugely easier with peak. you can finalize your project with it easily and export playlist to toast. i think toast le is included with peak so orange-book cd:s can be burnt anytime. red-book production masters however cannot be done without jam.

i have peak and (toast with) jam. for now i wouldn't consider making red-book masters any other way.

JFreak,

Thanks for the response. Since I don't even bother trying to master anything at home (my studio is an oddly shaped bedroom that sounds like an anchovie can), it seems that perhaps Peak isn't for me right now. I just wish there was some way to transfer to my Emu sampler on SCSI besides Recycle.

Thanks again.

Oh, can anyone explain or point me in the direction of an article that can explain the whole 'red book,' 'orange book ' cd thing? Gracias!

i think orange book is basically same as red book (THE cd-audio standard) without the isrc- and other PQ coding which are used (and required) in cd mass production. orange book cd:s should be readable by MOST standard cd players, but to be 100% sure, one must burn red book cd:s.

for more accureate information, google will help you.
