Default WEIRD! Audio playing back at higher pitch - help

Hey, I had to totally reinstall protools because of a hard drive failure. now when i open sessions protools plays them back audio at too high a pitch. anyone have any idea how to fix this? its killin me!

Check your sample rate Joseph. Chances are you were recording at 44.1K and when you reinstalled PT it got switched to 48K. Or if you're using an outboard device to sync to, it's possible the outboard divice's sample rate clock got switched to a higher sample rate. In any case, my bet is it's the sample rate. Good luck.

sample rate is at 44.1 in the re-installed protools. this is really scaring me because all my old work, which is precious to me, won't play back properly.

my belief is that i've been using the same sample rate all along. help!

Are you clocking or attached to any external digital devices like a DAT player or reverb? Make sure your clock source is set to internal in your hardware setup / playback engine.
