Where are my conversion quality settings for "convert after bounce"?
Hey All,
Am I just Dumb or what? Go easy on my OK! Where are my settings to pick "tweakhead" when I do a convert after bounce? I have PT LE5.1. The manual says once I choose "convert after bounce" that I should be able to pick "settings" and get a dialogue box to get my "tweakhead" setting. There is nothing to pick after I choose "convert after bounce"? What's up wit dat! Help! Thanks in advance, Most Humble, Dave |

Re: Where are my conversion quality settings for "convert after bounce"?
You will only see these choices if you have chosen a certain file format in your preferences before starting a session. I can't remember which it actually is, but only one of them (your choices are AIFF, SDII, and WAV - I believe) will give you the oportunity to set conversion quality on bounce. You may have to do some trial session set-ups in order to determine which it is, because I can't remember. Sorry for being so vague, but I hope this helps you.

Re: Where are my conversion quality settings for "convert after bounce"?
You'll indeed only get this dialogue box when going from certain bit depth/sample rate to some others (won't go into details here).
Anyway you can always choose the general setting of your conversion: Setups->Preferences->editing->Conversion quality menu->your choice.

Re: Where are my conversion quality settings for "convert after bounce"?
The convert after bounce options (Good, Better etc) has nothing to do with the bit depth. It only applies for samplerate e.g if you are going from 48k to 44.1k.

Just to clear up any confusion that may have arisen from this thread, Robert U is correct.

Cool!
Thanks All! And no coments on my stupidity to boot, don't know if I could have passed up that open door! I was going from a 44.1k/16bit session to the same in a bounce. I now understand completely. Thanks again, Most Humble, Dave |

Re: Where are my conversion quality settings for "convert after bounce"?
P.S., Digi, looks like a good thing to update the manual with! Some very simple, yet important information that could easily be spelled out in the manual.
Thanks, Most Humble, Dave |
