Armed Tracks - monitoring problem

Im going to try to explain this the best I can.
NO ONE has been able to solve this problem...
I am running a Mac with a Profire 2626. USUALLY, I know that when you ARM a track, thats when you've made the input active and you can hear the sound from the mic (lets say a guitar amp playing in another room). BUT, on my set up, you dont have to have the track armed to hear the sound through the monitors. The interface is always picking up the sound whether the track is armed or not. I HATE THIS. I want to be able to hear NOTHING until I arm the track to record. Please help????

I would disagree and would at least try toggling that feature.

Just a thought...

Do you have an aux track or click track with an interface input (like Mic 1 or Line 1) selected? Check any hidden tracks too.

If so, they are always ON. Change the input to 'No Input' or whatever it should be.
