Default No throughput on armed tracks while playback?

Hey

I'm very new to ProTools, just got myself a Mbox2 and now have PTLE7.1 installed..

One thing that I noticed, is that when I arm a track, I get output and everything is all good. Until I start the playback of previously recorded tracks. Then the output on the armed track stops. This prevents me from playing along with the recorded tracks to try out different things. Is this just a fact that has to be acceptet with PTLE or did I set something up wrong?

I've been running cubase until now, and I'm very used to arm tracks, and play along with previosly recorded tracks. The reason I want to do it like this is because I want to hear the inserts while I play, so the mix switch on the mbox itself doesn't do the trick. If I hit record, everything is fine obvisouly, but it feels a bit unnecessary to record the track while I'm just trying things out.

Is there a way to solve this problem?

Thanks alot for you help,
Kenny

oh, thanks a lot.. i will try that as soon as possible..

another question.. years ago when i was in school we had a protoold system, i guess some kind of hd system, but a earlier version or something.. anyway, it was a real big system..

it had the ability (unless my memory is failing me) to playback armed tracks & it's input at the same time when you hit play, and then when it reached a punch in, it started recording as usual.. this is very very nice whenyou want to get "nice" cuts between takes.. playing along for a few bars to get the feel before it starts recording.. is PTLE able to do that thing?

sorry if i ask newbie questions, but as i said, i'm new, and i can't really find any "tutorials".. heh.. just 800 pages of reference manuals..

You will have to do this manually, TrackInput Monitoring is HD only (Audio Input and Input Only monitoring).
