Lock tempo map?
Hi
So I have a pro tools session, which is 60 minutes long I set tempo map / tempo changes around 10-12 minutes, then later I adjust the tempo around 2-3 minutes, then this action would make my tempo of 10-12 minutes not anymore with 10-12 minutes. Can I lock the smpte for tempo map?

Re: Lock tempo map?
Your question is not clear at all. But there is no way to lock in the tempo map. You can lock in Midi events to time code so they won't move. But the actual map will always move if you change the tempo earlier on the time line.
I wish they would give multiple song starts for tempo maps. Steve

Re: Lock tempo map?
I am trying to do something similar and thought I would put my question in this thread see if you guys know how..
Hi - I am working to picture. The movie is 59 minutes duration. I have a PT session where measure number one and my music starts midway in the movie - lets say 00:30:00:00 at 30 minutes. The session has MIDI, audio and tempo measure map - the tempo is changing within the music. (Sometimes the tempo map is changing before measure one because of some cue earlier on the timeline.) I have a new movie file and I need to move measure one - the audio, MIDI and tempo map to a new SMPTE time on the movie timeline. If the music were all MIDI or all audio this would be OK as the MIDI would stay in sync with itself even though the tempo might change, but I could adjust that. But there is audio, MIDI and tempo map - all must stay locked to each other. But given there is audio, MIDI and a tempo/measure map I really need the music to stay locked completely to itself during the move to a new SMPTE start time. How do I do this? Thanks in advance. |

Re: Lock tempo map?
smc,
Drop the cursor where you want B1 to land, then use the Event / Time Operations /Move Song Start function and make sure to select the button for "Song Start, Meter, Tempo, Key etc etc" and "All" for sample-based markers and tracks. All your audio, MIDI and tempo changes should move together. You can also renumber the new start to B1 in this move.
