Default 64 + channels whitout hdx cards

How I wish Avid is coming up with something which replaces the hdx cards, as this is the only solution to track more then 64 channels.
I would be happy with a connection for lets say 128 i/o. An pcie card or HD native module with 4 connectors and no dsp.
I’m reluctant to buy another oldschool 2006 tech hdx card, but avid is stretching the hdx card probably until 2122.

I don't disagree with you. Given the implementation of the Hybrid engine, even running a combination of HDX plus HD Native PCIe cards for more I/O is surely an option?

Or multiple HD Native cards for 128 channels of I/O.

I would be surprised if Avid budged though, given that they only recently up'ed the coreaudio I/O limit from 32 to 64.

HDX is still incredibly impressive for tracking... but its a bit of a drag when you just want to mix with 128 channels of outputs into Atmos.

HDX is a bad investment at this point in time.

I am hoping for a thunderbolt 4 HD Native box!?!?!
