The new song is not me playing, but an old client. He was on a Taylor C414CE using Elixir's. Hate those strings.

To me, good service sometimes outweighs the extra cost. If the service and knowledge is there, I will buy at that time. Call it crazy, but 30 bucks is worth it to me for good advice, service and quick delivery.

Here is another one to listen to. The vocals and guitar are a scratch take. Done with the 460 about 2 feet back going into the API 3124. All rough, but you can at least hear it. The drums are various mics. We will be tracking the real guitars in a few days as well as bass, vocals, etc. I really like it so far. And this will give you an idea of the mic throgh the API.

Funny things about the Elixir strings is that while they sound less than impressive while brand new they manage to keep the same sound for longer than just about any other brand of strings I have used. I agree with your assessment of their sound 100%. I bought my first set of them on the recommendation of a sales dood not about how they sound, but how long they last. He was right about them holding out, but they do sound pretty dead from the get go. I only used them a few times until I realized that I had essentially sucked the tone from my guitar with them.

Hey guys

I used this forum and a few others to finally decide to mod my Apex 460 with a Peluso CEK-12 capsule and a CM-2480 transformer. It was a bit daunting but I got it all installed no problems. I decided to make a simple site with a picture tutorial how to do it to make it easier for everyone else who wants to do the mod. Here's the Peluso capsule mod here:
