Default Newly Created Send Controls Fail to Isolate in Automation (are Un-Touchable)

Hi -- I've been battling this since at least PT2023.9, and it's definitely happening here in 2023.12. For all I know it's a known issue, but just in case.

Newly Created Send Controls Fail to Isolate in Automation (are Un-Touchable)

I use a pretty big mix template, but it's not uncommon to add some sends while mixing. I run into this issue a few times a week minimally.

Steps:
- Be working in a session with tracks in Latch mode *
- On some tracks: Create new sends.
- Touch controls on those newly created sends: If in Preview Mode, automation indicator on track should turn green, indicating preview active. Or: automation should start writing if in touch or latch. Instead it's as if though no automation is enabled for that control.

Workaround:
Close and reopen session. Sends now automate as expected.

*might work in other automation modes, I've mainly only tried latch / preview, as that's how I work daily.

You’re in Trim mode. Check your preference for Include Sends in Trim Mode.

Under Preferences>Mixing>Automation>Include Sends in Trim Mode

No -

- Sends are not in trim mode. I've set the pref so sends are not included in trim
- Besides this: if they WERE in trim mode, they should also be writing automation breakpoints. Instead, the control does not pass touches to automation.

On another forum, someone suggested I try toggling the global automation enable for sends vol; will try soon as I'm back at my system

The key is having "Include Sends in Trim Mode" disabled.
When that is enabled, this behavior does not crop up.

De/reactivating the entire track fixes it as well as toggling the S Vol automation enable in the Automation window.

To recharacterize this bug report:

For Sends created when track in Trim mode, Controls Fail to Isolate in Automation (are Un-Touchable) until Send Vol automation enable is toggled.

Steps to create:
- Set pref: sends not included in Trim*
- Set pref: automation latch prime in stop: on*
- On track(s): set automation mode to Latch Trim
- Create new sends
- Touch newly created send controls. Send Automation controls should be isolated or written, but are not.

* I'm unclear if these steps are required.

Workaround:
- When this occurs, toggle the global send volume automation enable in Automation window
- Alternately: disable and re-enable track(s)
- Alternately: close and re-open session
