Default upsample cd audio?

Are there any downsides to upsampling cd audio (drum loops) to 24bit? The other option would be to just do the session in 16bit and record all the other audio through a Rosetta, getting the UV22 benefits.

Hello again nosatic, when i import loops from CD, I import convert to 24/48K. That is highest bit rate and sampling rate that a MixPlus can do. Once that is down you can record with highest fidelity the system can offer. Nothing, that I can tel,l is lost from the conversion.

Really?

I thought upping bit depth had no effect on the audio but that upping sample rates would be a different matter.
