Default dc30

I'm using a dc30(not plus) and can't seem to get a good image. Scrolling with the video in pt doesn't work. It waits until I stop to catch up. I've seen images done with a dc20 card that look far better and even scroll. I get lots of dropped frames and have tried everything listed in the Miro pages. Can anyone out there help. Please!!!! Thanks, Craig

Sounds like a driver problem. I use a DC 30 and am quite pleased with its performance. Make sure you have the latest drivers (from the miro web site-sorry don't have it handy, but is pretty easy to find...) The drivers which ship with the CD may not work at all (at least for NTSC).

I capture at 800 to 1000k/sec, 320/240 (in Premiere). I also prefer to use an internal drive in the Mac, as its data transfer rate is faster.

Also, make sure you have Quicktime 3.0 or higher installed. As I recall, the miro CD will install Quicktime 2.5, which will not work.

Good luck!

Bob

Thanks for the info. Got the latest drivers etc, and finally got pt to scroll nicely. I'm still having pix quality problems. If I use 800K to record with, my time code window ghosts badly. And the picture is fuzzy. If I go down to 500k then the window is good, buit the rest also suffers a bit in quality. Any idea what's going on. I can't use this with clients. The pix is embaressing. I record on the internal drive to my 9600, 200. More help would be appreciated. Pinnacle charges out the ear just to get help. Help please! Thanks, Craig

I'm just guessing that the 9600/200 might be a bit too slow. I'm using 1000 kb per second on a 9600/350, and it looks pretty good.
