downgrading to 6.7 from 7.0
hey yall. i recently made the mistake of upgrading my digi 002 to version 7.0. now about 75% of my recording takes are interupted with that annoying h/w buffer error. so i tried to downgrade back to version 6.7 and now it's not able to read any of the session files that were used with 7.0. all the ones that i never opened with 7.0 are still recognized and able to be opened. i have gone through the process of downgrading several times in the past as pro tools has come out with new versions, i've even downgraded back to my digi 001 and i never had a problem. so my main question is: is there a way to get those files open with version 6.7, or am i just screwed?
and my next question would be: does anyone know what is causing the hw buffer error to come up such a ridiculous amount of times, and how can it be fixed? i would appreciate any useful info that you might have to offer. thank you so much. mikeG |

Re: downgrading to 6.7 from 7.0
7 saves compleatly differently than 6.x
if the projects were created on 6.x you should still be able to open them, just not any made/saved under 7 you have to do a 'save session copy in' under 7 ive found 7 to have fewer errors than 6.x its impossible to say what would be causing your problems without any information about your system |

Re: downgrading to 6.7 from 7.0
yes they were almost all created with 6.7 but how can i reopen them once i downgrade? the session files look like little white document files and it says that pro tools doesn't recognize the files. my system should not be the issue as it has worked flawlessly through every generation of pro-tools. i believe it has something to do with either some settings set incorrectly or some plugins that need to now be updated. so getting back to what you originally said, how can i reopen them with 6.7, and am i just screwed out of using any new ones that i've created in 7.0?

Re: downgrading to 6.7 from 7.0
You have open them in 7.0 and save as 6.x files.

Re: downgrading to 6.7 from 7.0
i would just like to say that i too was having alot of problems with 7.0 until i messed around with disabling other sound devices. it now works flawlessly and i wasnt having much better luck with 6.9 before on a totally different setup.
