Default PT 2020.5.0 cannot be activated

I own PT 2020.5.0
I have iLok with the licence.
I just re-installed PT.
And it cannot see the licence. Why?
PS. I tried to move it around to USB iLok and Cloud, but with no success.

You "own 2020.5" but what version of Pro Tools did you reinstall? Check what version actually shows in the splash screen even if you think you ran the right installer.

What exactly is showing up on the iLok or in your iLok account? What do you see for the license? (It's a Perpetual license right that now has an expired update plan? When did your update plan expire?).

I would not mess around with iLok cloud unless the iLok hardware is showing issues.

Try reinstalling the ILM software again.

Remove all unneeded USB connections, make sure the iLok was on the same port it was working on before.

Provide yous system info. Computer, OS version, ILM version etc. if you need more help.

And now you are confusing folks here a little by starting a new thread and not providing the same info as before... https://duc.avid.com/showthread.php?t=418547 not a lot there but that you had a version installed and working (what version was that 2020.5?), that you tried to upgrade and now are trying to roll back.

Hi, Have you downloaded iLok License Manager and synced your licenses?

Default Re: PT 2020.5.0 cannot be activated

@cwsand, @Darryl Ramm Thank you for your replies.

I figured it out:

Stupid Avid Link app suggested me to install PT update, and I did. But this update was out of my licence. And I had to re-install PT 2020.5.0 again.

@Avid has bugs in its installations: it keeps PT app from previous version and that is why I could not run just installed valid version.

Avid Link deleted forever. PT 2020.5.0 installed and forgotten as the worst WAV for composers ever. And I am again in love with S1.
