Random Video Error Messages PT Ultimate 2021.12

I am running PT Ultimate 2021.12 on a new Mac mini M1 with 16GB Ram and a 500GB SSD. Super fast and loving it, for the most part.

I am mixing a 30 minute series with minimal pluggins (all are approved for this version).

Since I installed last week, I have been getting random Video Engine Error. no number, just says that there was a Video Engine error and I should check the Video Log for further information. When I check the log, it just say's that there was and error...LOL Super helpful.

Any thoughts out there? Avid contributors?

From your profile, it says you are running Big Sur. Is that still the case or have you upgraded to Monterey? I ask because Monterey has not been certified for compatibility. I just wanted to check that first.

You say that all plugins "are approved for this version," which may be true on Mac's with Intel processors. The Apple Silicon M1 may still have issues running it through Rosetta2. I don't know if this is your issue, but it is worth following up.

Hi there. Nope running Big Sur. Have checked with all pluggin developers, and all are qualified for M1 processors.

I just moving from pt hd 12.4 to 2021.12 Ultimate on catalina - i9 and have the some error. It happens when I selecting only short clip or when I have loop playback on. It is not happening many times and I can work with out problem. I thinking that maybe changing latency of video playback can help. It is somewhere in preferences “shortest” to “longest”. You can also try set post roll to few seconds.

I agree 100%. I have found a few other issues that are infinitely more annoying, not the least of which is the VCA meter misalignment issue that seems to have no resolution.

Yesterday I printed some animation series episodes. I do it old fashion/ online to audio tracks, two mixes at the some time - 5.1 and stereo. I listen to one of them but I saw that sometimes on one of mix music is completely out of sync! Hit recording once again and everything back to normal. It happends maybe 2-3 times on 26 episodes, but still, very strange.

I'm on Catalina and PT Ultimate 2021.12 AND Yes I occasionally get the same error Video Engine Error message.
All I do is hit play again... I have not tried video latency options
