Protools 10 - audio overload resulting in loud "crack" then no sound

Hi guys,

First time poster. Recent problem has started cropping up with me in protools. I work with PT 10 - version 10.3.8 on a Mac OSX 10.7.5 - I use a Mbox Pro 3 Interface.


Lately certain of my files (all rather large sessions, incidentally) have been erring our immediately upon opening. Almost immediatly after it has opened, a weird (and very nasty sounding) click or pop sound happens, and suddenly there is no sound - although it plays back fine and the meters seem to indicate that sound is still being played. It's extremely annoying - I have to restart the program numerous times, and even when it does work it's not guaranteed to last for any more then a few minutes before 'popping' again, or some other weird error happening (such as my iloks randomly not being found for Slate VCB's - this weird error also triggers this nasty 'pop').
Super annoying. As far I as know I have the most updated version of PT 10 (10.3.8) - not sure if this is an interface issue? Please someone with more tech knowledge help me with this - it literally has just started happening after making no major alterations to my setup here.
