Default AppMan update bug

After installing the update I was notified about today (app now reads 2.5.2.160) am unable to start Application Manager, instead I get a dialog box reading 'The application “AvidApplicationManager” is not open anymore.'

A puzzle! Anyone else experiencing similar?

The latest update to Application Manager has been a disaster for me. It either bombs right away, hangs at Initializing or hangs at Authorizing. Once in a blue moon it actually connects.

It never remembers my login credentials.

I never had an issue with the previous version. I wish I could go back.

I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling. No luck.

App Manager is a piece of junk. Much discussed before on DUC, including lots of advice to just uninstall it. I cannot undertand why anybody would not want to uninstall it. It does nothing you cannot do otherwise, and causes problems.
