Default High pitched noise on Mbox 2 ....

Hello:

I've been using protools for quite a few years now, mostly TDM (mix & HD), but as I wanted to use PT 7 at home , I've decided to upgrade my 001 to an Mbox2 ...

At home I have one mac G4 which is not compatible with PT 7, an old Athlon xp 2.2 GHz/Gygabyte KT Motherboard PC and mosst importantly a brand new PC with an Asus SLI Premium, an Athlon x2 64 @ 3800 Ghz and 2 Gb of Ram, Antec P160 case, Nvidia GeForce 6600, Hyper PSU (really good) and a SATA drive.

No matter what I do to either of my computers, whenever I launch PT, (and I don't even need to open a session), and the DAE is loaded, I get this mad interference coming through, is like a highly pitched sine wave, or worst some sort of alias of a main's hum (i hope is nothing electrical)....

I've swapped cables 5 times, tried different mains outlet, reinstalled bios, updated USB drivers, changed mixer, ....same

Tried my Mbox 2 on a G5 no noise whatsoever, on my mate's PC, no noise....

Am I the only one getting this? I've looked on the answerbase, there is some mention of incompatibility with certain laptops and intel boards....no mention of Asus....

I was searching on google, and I've found other people experiencing similar problems but no solutions...

Can anyone help before i launch this box out of the window?

Cheers
