Modifier key to "click and drag" edit view around?

Is there a modifier key to click and drag the timeline around, or just scrolling left and right, up and down?

I love how in Melodyne you can hold 'option+command' and then click, drag and zoom in and out on the waveforms... it makes it SO much easier to get around. Almost every pro app (like Photoshop, Illustrator) has this modifier key "drag the screen around" funtion but I can't seem to find it in Pro Tools.

Do you have version 8? Just use the universe view.. You can drag the view around.. Don't even need to remember a keyboard modifier..

Didn't know about that! I still would love a modifier key so you could click and drag the edit view around without having to go up to the universe bar... still, universe view will come in handy.
