GUI Suggestion : track numbers

PLEASE track numbers should not eat on the already VERY cramped space where track names appear, notably in Narrow view.
I realise there is an issue with control surfaces so that the numbers also appear in the virtual "scribble strips" but it would sure be nice to have the option to have the numbers appear in a little box of their own...
