Main Hard Drive Dissapeared from Desktop
Hello everyone.
I had a very weird problem with my recording computer, i.e. G5 Dual 2.3 PCI-X Tiger 10.4.11 machine yesterday. My main hard drive disappeared from the desktop? I could access it with Spotlight and Disc Utility but it was invisible on the desktop and the Finder. I worked on this all day and I tried all the information I could find on the web and Apple's tech support. However, no one could figure it out. I tried the Finder>Preferences thing, Terminal commands and all to no avail. I then found a link that used Apple's Script Editor commands that brought my hard drive back to the desktop. This link also included info for the same situation on Leopard. You may want to save this for quick fixes if you have a disappearing hard drive problem.
