Default Um….clip groups

Hi all.

I’ve sent a client a piece of work bounced to a stereo file in a session folder. The client has replied with some edits/suggestions/direction, these are in a bunch of clips at specific places on the timeline of a separate track to run along with the stereo file. I sure this makes complete sense.

My problem is this, I want to take that group of 30 or so clips back to the 7 track original session. I can export the clips and try to import them into the original session, but if I do…they appear in the clip list, but not in the track view despite importing them as a new track.

I have a very long-winded clunky workaround, but isn’t there something that will let me do this without needing to consolidate all the clips which will lose the edit marker points I need. Does this make sense?

Any suggestions would be very much appreciated.

Thanks

David

Import session data from the session? Maybe I'm missing something but that is what will get your track of clips into your session, in the right place.

Thank you so much. I’ll give that a try tomorrow, I became quite fixated on the import/export of clips that session data didn’t occur to me. I’ll shout back to you tomorrow.

Best 🥃

Well, I feel very dumb for missing that, but you were absolutely spot on, that did exactly what I’d hoped it would.

Thank you. 👍🏻🥃

Glad that did it. If you should ever want to keep the clip relationships the same in a session with a different start time, you can group the clips and export the Clip Group. Upon import, both the individual clips and the group will appear in the Clips Bin. Drag the Clip Group to the timeline instead of the individual clips.
