Default Custom Shortcuts Exclude [Modifier] + Mouse Click?

I just started looking around the new custom shortcut feature that was recently introduced to Pro Tools. In doing so I am unable to find the shortcuts for [modifier] + mouse click.

Specifically I would like to turn off the Option + Left Click shortcut that currently turns on pre/post roll while also changing the values of these settings. This is by far my most accidentally used shortcut when working quickly and requires several steps to reset these elements to my desired settings.

Am I missing a way to edit [modifier] + click shortcuts?

Mouse clicks are currently not included in the Keyboard shortcuts prefs. Keyboard commands only.

You could accomplish this with Keyboard Maestro or Steermouse.

Oh man I HATE this pre/post roll shortcut and would love to be able to remove it. The problem with using third party software to remove it is that opt+click is super useful for other things in pro tools, like drawing automation and routing I/O, so it'd be much better to have the option of editing modifier+clicks the same way we can edit other keyboard shortcuts

That's a fair point. I used to get annoyed by the pre roll shortcut myself but I've since come to regard it as useful. I understand why you might want to disable it, though.

I can handle it being potentially useful, but do you have an alternate one click shortcut for reverting the change? That would be helpful to me. Is it just Command+k? I use pre-roll when recording and music making, but never ever when editing dialogue.

I didn't even know what shortcut was even making this happen randomly. Hah!

I do not know of a shortcut to revert these settings. Yes, Cmd+k will turn on/off pre/post roll. Unfortunately opt+click changes two values - on/off state AND duration of the pre/post roll.

While dialogue editing I don’t want pre/post roll on however I do have the values set to 4 seconds or so and constantly use the Cmd+Opt+Left Arrow shortcut. This shortcut temporarily activates pre/post roll without switching their on/off states and therefore allows for auditioning an edit in context. If I accidentally have hit opt+left click at some point my pre/post roll amounts are off - and sometimes wildly if I accidentally hit the shortcut while clicking on a different section of the session. Cmd+K will unfortunately not fix this new duration setting.

Thanks for teaching me something new. This is a great trick. I'll just have to think of a more ergonomic shortcut.
