002 firewire ports
I bought an 002R used a couple months back, transferred the ownership and was able to use my 002 once.
After that "the hardware wasn't being recognized." I thought this was a power harness issue but when I called digi they stated that all the 002R with the letter "G" at the end of the serial number did not have this problem. Digi said it was the firewire ports that need repair, and through them would run over $300. The green light in the back between the ports turns on which makes me a little wary of the diagnosis. Could the firewire ports really be shot? It is in almost new condition. If this is the problem am I better off geting it fixed or selling "broken" and putting the money towards an 003? |

Re: 002 firewire ports
I have seen a case where a 002r's firewire light was on and the program wouldnt recognize the hardware. Plugged the same computer into another interface, and it opened PT.
I would say that it's a fair diagnosis.
