Richard, thats not enough info for us to help you.
Please let us know what operating system, PT version, interface you are using.
Have you trashed the preferences and restarted the machine?
Try to disconnect all attached FW, USB and other peripherals devices and try again.
Do you use a fresh 9v battery in your Syncheck 2?
Have you tried contacting Avid customer support with this issue?

Just buy an AJA card and all your problems shall be resolved incl. world peace and global warming (oh, wait. that's already solved I heard).
