Default question ???

this question came to me while reading the ADC thread ...

how much delay is there in an analog circuit as opposed to a digital circuit ...

console, outboard effects, reamping ... in analog was there no delay or just one so slight that it mattered not ...

what then is an acceptable amount of delay in digital that we can use without worrying about DC until Digi can implement this feature ???

peace john

Hi,

Read this paper on it:

http://www.technicalaudio.com/readin...soledelay.html

This should explain it a bit.

thank you ...

disturbing to know that the delay numbers in PT are not accurate ...

i tend to move thing with nudge and listen but it would be nice to have an accurate tool ... and be able to bypass it ...

John Klett is an audio treasure. He COMPLETELY understands this issue. Digi needs to hire him or someone like him immediately to get some appreciation of EXACTLY what is at stake here.

Good paper.
