Default mcdsp analog channel

what do you think about mcdsp analog channel, I can`t try the demo now because I don`t have an ilok key, for what I have read it`s pretty impressive the analog simulation. Should I buy it?

nobody can tell you what you should buy, but i can tell you that plug is a very good reason for buying ilok key, if not for buying the plug (that is up to you to decide based on the demo period) but even demoing it and some others is worth it.

i have it and it just rocks.

Analog Channel rocks. AC2 Awesome on kicks(Turns a tapping kick into a thumping kick). AC1 split mono great for glue'ing a mix. And Colin and Jake ROCK, if you ever need tech support!

Hello McDSP analog channel fans:
I was considering the AC, but the McDSP website even admits the results can be subtle. The price tag seemed a little high for "subtle" so I went for the PSP vintage warmer. I haven't had a chance to work with the PSP VW yet. Do these plugs do similar things? ......or is the Analog Channel a "must have"? thoughts/opinions?
thanks

VW is a tube emulation and Analog Channel is analog circuit & tape saturation emulation, so there is a differnce in the concepts here.

And since it´s McDSP I believe that price difference means something, besides it´s alot more versatile on how you like it to affect your mix.

BTW it´s a lot easier to just ´warm´ something up with an aggressive harmonic distortion, than taking care of, and keeping all the subtleties working together in your mix.
And subtlety is a much underappreciated feature these days.

So maybe AC is not what you really want.

If you have an iLok I strongly suggest trying the demo.

besides you can get McDsp plugs at www.altomusic.com ALOT cheaper.

subtle equals to good, when it comes to audio. if you overdo anything, it sounds worse than using "just right" amount of it.

analog channel can be used very aggressively, if you must. just buy ilok key and try it yourself. but the subtleness sounds amazing

I have another question regarding McDSP.

I need good EQ and Comp for my PLLE rig and wanted to get the CompressorBank and FilterBank. Would this be a good buy? or should I look into some other PLug ins ?? Sony Oxford ?

I do mainly Rock/Pop/Metal and I love the Fairchild 660 Compressor (I only have a demo, but feel that it´s too much $$ just for one Comp.)

I totally agree with the importance of being subtle. I was just wondering (rhetorically) that if i spent $350 on AC, would I hear a noticeable difference in my mixes? (I realize that only i can judge my ears abilities) Let me rephrase my original question:
In an effort to "warm" my mixes, Would I use Analog Channel instead of PSP Vintage Warmer? or are they different animals?
(the difference in price obviously suggests that the AC is superior to VW)

(btw- I do have an ilok ....so I'll check out the demo of AC)
