Long delay before playing/recording
Using DIGI002 on my Macintosh, when I set up to play/record, there is a long delay before it starts working. This doesn't happen if I play a previously recorded session-only a new one. I get the circular rainbow for about 2 minutes before it kicks in. I think it's happened before but haven't done anything different that I know. Thanks in advance.

Re: Long delay before playing/recording
I had this happen once, and I'll share what fixed it for me, but I'm not sure our two problems are related, but it sounds like it. Go to your system preferences... what is your default audio playback? Is it your DIGI hardware? If so, change it to the internal audio hardware and see if that helps.

Re: Long delay before playing/recording
If your disk allocation is set to "open ended" in the prefs try shorting it to something more reasonable in regards to your project. Like 15 minutes or so.

Re: Long delay before playing/recording
My playback engine is Digi002 and system preferences under Sound is Digi002 for sound input and output, which seems to have worked in the past. I had tried using delay compensation and thought that might be the problem. Increased buffer size and removed delay comp. It then worked correctly with a track record-enabled but when I actually pushed the record button to record the same problem happened again.
Not sure about disk allocation. I couldn't find a reference to its size. |

Re: Long delay before playing/recording
Check Preferences > Operation > Record section (right side). There is a 98% likelihood that this is your culprit, if it's set to Use All Available Space.

Re: Long delay before playing/recording
Looks like that solved the problem, though I never remember going to that page before. I was still getting the rainbow for about 3 seconds when i set the space to an hour so I lowered it more. What is a reasonable setting? Thank you so much- I would never have found this on my own.
