DAE error -1115 when launching Pro Tools LE 7.3

Have window xp system with dualcore 2.3 and asus modherbord. Gcard is nvidia 8600.
when i launching Pro Tools LE 7.3 does i get DEA error -1115. Would be very happy for answer.

what'S your audiointerface?
i use a 003 on an ASUS mainboard.

and yeah:
i'm using onboard firewire on an ASUS M2NPV-VM mainboard, DAE error -1115 is related to Firewire communication problems.
my onboard chipset is: TSB43AB22 Integrated 1394a-2000 OHCI PHY/Link-Layer Controller

yesterday, in the hope of bettering the situation, i bought a new firewire controller, the Via VT6306 chipset on it, same problems. DAE Error -1115 upon opening ProTools, and PT just simply exits.

and IF it ever manages to allow ProTools LE 7.4cs2 to start, which happens once after every random 4 or 5 attempts or so, i have nothing but trouble, clicks and plops during the session, even though i optimized my windows to the maxx.

is PT so buggy, that it will only work on certain Firewire interfaces' chipsets, or are the chipsets buggy? or is my 003's firmware buggy?

You should start with the steps in the Win XP/ Pro Tools 6.x/7.x General Troubleshooting thread and post specific info on your system per the info on that thread if you're unable to resolve the problem.

That happened to me. I was very frustrated because i could't open the program. Here is what I did to solve this problem after some experimentations.

1. I defragmented the disk I that use to save my sessions and the disk C ( click on my computer/properties/defragment) that solves a lot of issues when recording, specially when you press the spacebar and the ssesion does't run.

2. Go to the disk where you save your sessions and delete all unecessary sessions, or sessions that you already bounced. These sessions has lots of plug-ins that are little devils that causes DAE error 1115 window to appear. Less is better when recording.
