Can I invert a side chain signal ?
I've used a send from a drum track as the sidechain input to a Gate plug-in, Rather than having the gate kick in when the signal drops I want it to work in reverse so it only applies the gate effect when the level of the sidechain is low. For instance, a typical (boring) trance/techno type bassline would have a single note bass sound on every 8th note following the kick drum not actually on the 4th notes where the kick drum is.
The current way the gate is working for me means that if I was trying to make such a baseline using the gate plug-in on a sustained tone and the kick drum as the sidechain, the bassline would be on the 4th note not the 8th note following it. sorry if I'm woffling on, I just thought I'd give a (probably bad) example of how I want to use the sidechain. |

Re: Can I invert a side chain signal ?
instead of using the gate, you should use the gate/expander...i tried it...and it works
