The only way you can have a "screwed up" track is to record a "screwed up" track.

Like Lemix said earlier...I am a PT rookie and I had no clue that was the problem (since I deliberately didn't change anything.) I just wasn't expecting it so I turned to you fine folks to help me out.

As far as the speeding up of playbacks...when I sing full voice it just seems to sound better when it's sped up just a little. True, it was quite a speed-up when that sample rate got altered (almost to the Chipmunk effect.)

The downside is that the EQ changes somewhat, especially with rhythm instruments.

One might think to slow down the backing tracks while singing, then playback at normal speed. But it doesn't have the same effect.

I guess I'll look in to some of this software you all are talking about...
