Default First automation lane defaults to mute

Minor question - standard behavior in PT since I began using it is for the first automation lane displayed to be volume when you click on the button in the track display (on audio tracks). Over the past couple of days, the default seems to be mute, which I use much less than clip mutes. So, a minor inconvenience, but I don't understand why it's doing this - a preference I clicked? A setting somewhere?

It's not 2023.12 related, it started well after that update (for me).

Anyone else seen this?

Thanks,

Myles

Default Re: First automation lane defaults to mute

Hmm,

When the automation lane is closed, try right-clicking on the bottom left button on the track header which shows and hides the automation lane, then select:

"volume"

Hopefully the volume automation lane opens. Then, after a left-click again on the button to hide the lane, try to click the button again.

This time, the volume automation lane should open up in the next lane.

As far as I can tell, the default for the minus/underscore key (not what you are asking about, I see) to open volume automation in the main lane of a track can not be configured.

You have every reason to wish the behaviour to suit your usage; however, I can point out that tapping on minus to see volume is burned in my memory, and being able to switch that first drop down lane to Mute or Pan can be helpful in addition to already getting the volume with the minus key.
