Not a requirement at all, I was trying to be helpful. If you wanted to get an iLok quickly without any shipping, you would get it from a local store. If you wanted to go to a local store that had iLoks for sale, a dealer that carries Pro Tools products would most likely carry iLoks for sale. I certainly don't care where you buy it.

I went through the process and I got to the page where I had to put date of purchase. Do I put original date or todays date?

We put the date that was on our reciept but I don't think it is that serious if you put the date +/- a week or so. When we bought our second PTHD system we just put the registration date on the page.
