external SSD disks will not mount after 2021.6 update

my external SSD disks will not mount. Tried everything. The show up greyed out in Disk Utility. Seems Big Sure is a crap shoot with externals.. don't want to erase and start over.
2013 MacPro 12 core.64 gigs ram.

Yes was working great 2021.3.
I would go back but time machine is on one of the SSD drives.
They are thunderbolt.

Just so we understand, do you think the issue is with Big Sur (according to your first post in this thread) or with Protools 2021.6 (per your second post on this thread). This is strange as no one else has reported any problems with Big Sur and mounting drives and neither has any reported such an issue with Protools 2021.6. It is highly unlikely that an application (Protools or other) would cause a drive to not mount. That sounds like hardware issue. I'm not saying it is, but let's do some troubleshooting before we blast Protools 2021.6 as the culprit and spread misinformation to everyone in this community.
