Re: Strike Overhead Panning Issues....Bug ?
I think we're misunderstanding each other . If you are printing kick mono , then you have to pan kick hard left or right . If you do that , then your kick will be hard left or hard right in the room channel..no ?

Re: Strike Overhead Panning Issues....Bug ?
That is correct for Kick Center, Kick On Axis and Kick Front but I use the Master bus for Kick Room that is sent to the Room Channel for Width over Stereo. You will not print all Strike Channels in one pass.

Re: Strike Overhead Panning Issues....Bug ?
Hi oulablank, i realize that this is a fairly old thread , but i'm right there with you, I use strike all the time and am completely baffled with the hi hat placement , as soon as you go near building patterns the the h.h. position seems to jump all over the place in the OH ....have you had any luck resolving this?

Re: Strike Overhead Panning Issues....Bug ?
ok...so i've now gone though all the instruments , all the output config. i can find, the overheads are a fixed position, centre, i.e. mono, when the width is is increased or decreased there is a very slight expansion of the image , but it stays centre, the instrument pan faders have no effect on the instrument placement in the overheads, where as the instrument position changes in the rooms mics...this is the case for all instruments except the cymbals which have designated Left Right position in overheads,
to my ears the overheads are the best sounding aspect of strike ... but mixing with what is essentially mono overheads is very cumbersome ...my solution at this point is to use a combination of room and overhead channels and tweak them to give a more or somewhat exceptable image, .....is there something i've missed kev |

Re: Strike Overhead Panning Issues....Bug ?
Hi Forum!
This is my first post and i was looking for a solution to the problem described in this thread: I want to print separate tracks, but strike is getting confused with the routiung: i pan kik and sn hard left right to record them on Mono-Tracks via OUT1 . Now, in the OVERHEADS (stereo-OUT5) kik and SN is centered, but in the ROOM-Track (stereo-OUT6), kik is panned left and SN is pannedright So: is this a bug or am i missing something? Thanks Chris |
